FH Mozambique concentrated the implementation of its activities in 2 provinces and covered 20 districts

A total of 4,100 caregivers participated in cascade group activities, receiving training and support on child development, nutrition, and parenting practices

722 teachers and community leaders were trained to improve pedagogical skills and promote quality education, impacting literacy and numeracy outcomes in early grades. Additionally, 30,228 families were sensitized about the importance of education, with focused efforts to prevent early child marriage

Across 276 savings groups, 5,055 participants accumulated 207,441.48 USD in savings and accessed 117,053.39 USD in loans to enhance household income and start small businesses

83 farmer groups comprising 8,384 members adopted sustainable agricultural practices to diversify food sources and improve resilience to climate challenges

30 WASH infrastructures (latrines, water pumps, and handwashing stations) were constructed or rehabilitated, directly benefiting 51,695 people with improved water and sanitation access

430 leaders (230 community leaders and 200 religious leaders) were trained in strategic planning and leadership, resulting in 10 communities developing and implementing transformation plans

In 1987, FH began working in Mozambique in response to RENAMO’s attack and the Mozambican civil war, continuing our relief efforts after the peace accord of 1992. Since then, FH has focused efforts on long-term development work in agriculture, education and income generation as well as establishing care groups focused on reducing child mortality. The FY24  interventions were focused on: Food Security and Livelihood, Education, Health and Nutrition, Leadership and governance,  Family Harmony and Transformation, and WASH. 141587 direct  individuals were reached through 4 area programs funded by both grants and private resources.
