Food insecurity is often a result of economic hardship. To improve the livelihood resilience of vulnerable people, last year we mobilized people to create assets worth over 10 million through the formation of 6,137 Savings and Farmers Groups.

FH works to strengthen food and livelihoods resilience among vulnerable households. We do this through evidence-based models and approaches, including food and market system strengthening; climate-smart agriculture; household income diversification; facilitating access to improved agricultural inputs and assets, such as livestock; linking farmers to finance and markets; and strengthening the capacity of farmers and other community members to modify their food systems in a way that builds resilience to face climate change and other shocks and stresses.
FH’s agroecology research to change agricultural production systems, practices, and policies has validated water and soil conservation, erosion control, fertility restoration, and agroforestry practices.
